Music Policy Questions

There are two options when it comes to using the background music:

Option 1) Non-Commercial

If you aren’t using the music in a commercial project, or monetizing, the music is free to use. However:

– If you are uploading to youtube or Facebook, you won’t be able to use their monetization features to run ads on your videos.
– A note about “copyright music” may appear in your login, but this is NOT a “copyright strike”. You can still use the music free, and your account will have no negative impact. This notice is there to protect our music.
– An advert may or may not appear sometimes before your video.

Option 2) Commercial Use

You are using the background music in a commercial sense(monetizing a video, using it for tv or a theater film). A donation is required in order to get a usage license. Price up to you and your budget! Crediting not required. YouTubers, please see the second FAQ question below for additional details.

  2. Please use the music for any project you need. (See above)
  3. 2. Do I need a license?
  4. If you are not selling the music then no, but if you plan on monetizing or selling the music yes please donate to receive a license.
  5. 3. I hear tags in the music can they still be used?
  6. Yes, contact me. These are leftovers from previous uploads.
  7. 4. Is all music original?
  8. Yes, all the music is original and created by the RunJoeRun project and contributors to the website.
  9. 5. Can I contribute to the website?
  10. Please visit our submissions page and fill out the form.
  11. 6. Does the music have copyright?
  12. All music is copyrighted and registered with the PRO ASCAP.
  13. 7. What is your PRO membership number?
